How to use this WiFi name generator
- Type a word you like (your name, a nickname, a hobby). It is optional: leave it empty for fully random ideas.
- Pick a style, or keep “All styles” to mix everything.
- Press Generate. Tap any result to copy it, or the heart to keep it in your favorites (saved on this device only).
- Not inspired? Press Generate again: every batch is new.
How to change your WiFi name
- Open your router's settings page or app. The address is usually printed on a sticker under the router.
- Log in with the admin password (also on the sticker, unless you changed it).
- Find “Wireless” or “WiFi” settings, and change the SSID (network name).
- Save. Your devices will need to reconnect to the new name with the same password.
WiFi network name rules
Every name this tool shows already follows these rules, so it can be used as is:
- Between 2 and 32 characters.
- Allowed: letters, numbers, periods (.), hyphens (-), spaces and basic punctuation.
Platforms sometimes update their rules. If a name is refused, the platform's own message is the final word.
Frequently asked questions
How long can a WiFi name be?
A WiFi network name (SSID) can be up to 32 characters. Every name this tool generates fits.
Is it safe to put my name in my WiFi name?
Your neighbors can see your WiFi name. Avoid your full name, address or apartment number. A first name or a joke is fine.
Does changing the WiFi name change the password?
No. The name and the password are separate settings. Changing the name just means your devices reconnect once.
